To spice up a nice vacation, we also need an adventure. The Kawasan Waterfalls (A three step waterfalls) is a must visit place that is located in Badian, Cebu, Philippines. Badian is approximately 20km ahead of Moalboal; so to get there, you have to take the yellow bus in Moalboal (near Three Sixty Pharmacy) and just ask the driver to drop you off at the stop. The bus fare costs around 20 pesos and takes about 45 minutes.

When you arrive at the bus stop at Kawasan Falls, just look for the sign with a picture of the falls and a text that says “This way to Kawasan Falls”. Remember, just follow the road, do not be fooled by people saying it is difficult to get up there. On the bright side, you won’t get lost because there are bunch of people who also have the same route as you do. Just a tip, bring your own food and jug of water because it’s impossible for you to buy food there at a cheaper price. After a long walk, you’ll arrive at the entrance. The entrance fee is only 60 Php.

There are three stages in here. The first one is not hard to reach, it’s where most people stay rather than going up to the second and third stage. The first stage is very crowded but it has the biggest space and falls too. It’s the stage where families usually spend their time in falls, enjoying the cold fresh water.
If you plan to spice up your adventure, then go up the steep, slippery and rocky mountains bound to the second stage. It’s a challenge actually to climb and reach the second stage, but I promise you that it will be worth it. Seeing those clear blur water, deeper than you can imagine, colder than the water you bathe in the early morning. Visiting the second stage will make you crave for more. It’s very exhausting, of course but to think that you only have one last stage to reach the 3rd stage, it’s like you want something more. It’s like a race wherein you’re almost at the finish line, so you don’t havr to stop and rest, and you have to finish it.
Climbing up to the third stage became more challenging, in the end the natural wonder won’t ruin your expectations. It’s not crowded there, only few people are there to meet you on the third stage. When you get to be there, you can see people free diving at the cliff, sliding down the man made slide, swinging by the rope like tarzan and jump into the deep waters. Trust me, this place is outrageous and fun, mainstream but not overrated. What are you waiting for? Let’s go.
