Yes, we need a break, to be close to our Lord, our God. It eases our mind and heart if we pray. Going in this kind of place is the right destination to go if you are spiritually down. Sibonga is the place where Simala Shrine is found. Simala Shrine is a very well known religious place in the Philippines where thousands of believers and devotees visit the shrine; where it’s full of people for almost everyday.
Simala Shrine is located on Lindogon, Sibonga, Cebu. It is a place for people who believe in miracles. But first, let me tell you how to get there? Go to Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) and ride a bus there, going to Sibonga. It would be a 3 hour trip depending on its traffic. Once you reach the bus stop in Sibonga, you’ll need to ride a tricycle or a motorcycle, commonly known as “habal-habal” by the locals. The ride will take about 5 to 10 minutes. It will be a long tiring walk to reach the top, with thousands of people, both young and old, lining up to reach the top. Under the scorching sun, thousands of devotees endure the heat just to visit Mama Mary.
The image of the miraculous virgin, and its amazing and spectacular scenery is what makes the people convinced to visit the Simala shrine over and over again. For its beautiful structures, spacious, and green environment, and various religious things, inside and outside the church. You can also witness people throwing coins to the replica of the Nazareth while praying and wishing for something silently with all their hearts. The journey might be very exhausting but this vacation will make your heart feel lighter, you will feel yourself clean, and blessed. Hope you enjoy having this kind of vacation. Have a blessed and safe trip to you guys.

Badian Stresscapade

Kawasan Falls (1st level)

To spice up a nice vacation, we also need an adventure. The Kawasan Waterfalls (A three step waterfalls) is a must visit place that is located in Badian, Cebu, Philippines. Badian is approximately 20km ahead of Moalboal; so to get there, you have to take the yellow bus in Moalboal (near Three Sixty Pharmacy) and just ask the driver to drop you off at the stop. The bus fare costs around 20 pesos and takes about 45 minutes.

When you arrive at the bus stop at Kawasan Falls, just look for the sign with a picture of the falls and a text that says “This way to Kawasan Falls”. Remember, just follow the road, do not be fooled by people saying it is difficult to get up there. On the bright side, you won’t get lost because there are bunch of people who also have the same route as you do. Just a tip, bring your own food and jug of water because it’s impossible for you to buy food there at a cheaper price. After a long walk, you’ll arrive at the entrance. The entrance fee is only 60 Php.

There are three stages in here. The first one is not hard to reach, it’s where most people stay rather than going up to the second and third stage. The first stage is very crowded but it has the biggest space and falls too. It’s the stage where families usually spend their time in falls, enjoying the cold fresh water.
If you plan to spice up your adventure, then go up the steep, slippery and rocky mountains bound to the second stage. It’s a challenge actually to climb and reach the second stage, but I promise you that it will be worth it. Seeing those clear blur water, deeper than you can imagine, colder than the water you bathe in the early morning. Visiting the second stage will make you crave for more. It’s very exhausting, of course but to think that you only have one last stage to reach the 3rd stage, it’s like you want something more. It’s like a race wherein you’re almost at the finish line, so you don’t havr to stop and rest, and you have to finish it.
Climbing up to the third stage became more challenging, in the end the natural wonder won’t ruin your expectations. It’s not crowded there, only few people are there to meet you on the third stage. When you get to be there, you can see people free diving at the cliff, sliding down the man made slide, swinging by the rope like tarzan and jump into the deep waters. Trust me, this place is outrageous and fun, mainstream but not overrated. What are you waiting for? Let’s go.

Everybody needs a break of their life. An escape from reality and say hello to beaches, salty air, white sand and water embracing their bodies. Strolling within the city might be relaxing to you but it is not enough to consider it as a day off or a holiday or a vacation. Long rides under the early morning, smell the cold province-like winds and arriving to your desired destination is A VACATION.

In case, you’re looking for a place that is not overrated, somewhere very relaxing, a place to capture its photogenic features and post in your Instagram, Moalboal is number one on that list. Moalboal is a small town located in the south west side of Cebu, Philippines. If this is the kind of vacation you want to try, Moalboal is best for you.

Moalboal is proud to feature one of the best places in their town, White Beach or what the locals called as “basdako” (Big Sand). White beach is aesthetically pleasing in the eyes that features crystal shades of blue, meeting the purest and powdery white sands of Moalboal. But first, let me tell you how to get there from Cebu. Just go to Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) and take the bus. If you want a cheaper bus fare, the “no aircon” one, your fare would be 125 Php. But if you want the cooler one with aircon, ride the ceres bus liner (yellow buses) and also offers free wifi; your bus fare would be 150 Php. It will be a 3-Hour drive depending on the traffic. The bus will drop you off in Moalboal Town which is 9km from White Beach. The easy way is riding a tricycle, your fare would be 200 Php. But if you have a small luggage amd can manage to ride a motorcycle, then jist choose riding it, we locals call it “habal habal” and its fare is only 50 Php.
